I have an opportunity to purchase an second-hand Sadowsky NYC S-style guitar.
This guitar is currently with it's second owner having had the middle and bridge pickups replaced ie modified. They are now Seymour Duncans. The mid pickup having blade style 'pole' pieces and the bridge pickup having 12 poles. The neck /fingerboard pick-up is an original Sadowsky 'Tele' style pick-up. I have some important (to me!) music to finish recording and need a good guitar, that will no doubt, last a lifetime. I'll put it through a Music Man 110. So what do you think my American friends? The sale price is AU$2.5 - 3k. What should I look out for in this guitar? Is the replacement pickups detrimental to the sound, quality or resale value of this guitar. (I probably would never sell it again , I don't have G.A.S.!)
Please give me a few hints or opinions if you have any, I'm looking at it Tuesday this week, Australian Eastern Standard time. Muchas Gracias, Eduardo.
