Furthermore, I think if you favour the P on the PJ, you get a more focussed sound (more low mids) as when you do the same on a JJ (more low end).

One crucial difference might be that with the PJ, a J SC pickup doesn't really make sense (hum cancelling wise), whereas you can easily use a couple of SCs (especially Sadowsky JJs) on the JJ.
In my experience I always favoured Sadowsky SCs on my 5 strings.
But apparently with the Sadowsky 4 strings the difference between SCs and HC are minimal.... But that's a  different discussion

Indeed, I played a MarkBass SA450 with my GS112, GS212, db112 and db212 for a long time.
The Markbass heads go VERY WELL with Aguilar 12" cabs.

I have marked all mail from @sadowsky.com going to a special folder in Google mail.

As for following this forum, I am using the RSS reader feature on my Mail app on the MacBook.
This way I am following all threads and regularly discover new interesting things.

they might be going to the spam filter on your email server. This is happening to me but I don't care much because I'm such an addict to all things Sadowsky that I visit this forum on a regular basis (almost daily  ) and them I just click on the "Show unread posts since last visit.".

Thanks Fran.You were correct. There was some email notices in the server spam box.
Is there a way to reverse those spam items so the server won't recognize future notices as such? Must be someway to do that. Anyone?

That depends on your email server configuration.
With gmail, for exemple, you can configure keywords or adresses no to be sent into Spam folders.

I am sure this is possible with other email providers as well

I am having my 2nd NYC built. I ordered it in Nov/Dec 2010, it should be ready in Aug/Oct 2011...

My UV70 5 string has the 70's spacing.

The bridge PU is about 1cm (1/4") closer to the bridge.

The german bass builder Hotwire has some soundfiles online that show the sonic difference between both spacings:

I have a rev.PJ5 and a UV70-ASH-5 right now.
Me too I like the PJ better (although having played almost exclusively J for years).

If someone might be interested in a UV5 string, he might have look in the international classifieds on TB or on basschat.co.uk

There are 2 different shells for the BS. Actually Cary uses the shallower ones for his basses as well.

My BS equipped 5 string that I just ordered, will also have the new ones.
I myself, really like the look of open polepieces (like on the other design)
