1  Sadowsky Basses / Sadowsky Basses / Re: New here from Italy, my first Sadowsky NYC 5 - 1996 on: July 01, 2014, 11:23:14 AM
Ciao Roberto,
piacere di conoscerti e benvenuto nel mondo di Sadowsky!
Lets keep this "international"  :-)
The bass is indeed gorgeous!

Roger has used Bartolinis and EMGs in the beginnings, but than moved to DiMarzio for his Humcan J pups, both 4 and 5 strings!
Nowadays Roger uses Nordstrand too… I know the DM HC have gone through some tweaks through the years, but I'm not sure of the timeline.
I would contact Roger directly and see what he has to say about it!
Strings also matter a lot, on my Sadowsky I use SS blacks (I've experimented with several different strings, but TO ME the blacks are IT)

(BTW, your english is good)

if they are grey-ish/blue-ish it's SS if white-ish/silver-ish nickel

Juraj, how are you? You sound great as always! Happy holidays!

4  Sadowsky Basses / Sadowsky Basses / Re: M5-24 players: What strings do you use? on: December 11, 2012, 09:09:34 PM
interesting, I had the exact opposite experience. Blues are thicker, warmer and maybe a little scooped in the high mids compared to the Blacks which are a little grinder and less middy…

In the '80, when all that electronic-multieffects crap came out, I went through a phase of making my gigs a nightmare. The last unit I bought was a ART SGX nightbass…. that thing gave me so much troubles that one night at a gig I ripped it out and went direct to the PA…. never looked back since.
For me Bass-Amp, period.

Beautiful clips!

I was looking for a Modern R5-24 sound clip on youtube, but seems like no one use them, plenty of M5-24, tho….

thank you!

I didn't know she had a 5-24…. I always see her with the MV4, but of course, what do I know  Cheesy

ooopss, I think my above post is probably not on the right topic!

11  Sadowsky Basses / Sadowsky Basses / Re: Metro Serial Numbers & Timeline Info on: September 09, 2012, 02:37:27 AM
my first Metro is the one featured on the main metro page.

(I previously owned two NYC standard 4, back in the '90)

I just got the DVD as well but have not had time to watch it yet.  I go back over 20 years with Mezzoforte!
They are an incredibly good band!

Here is a sample:

Indeed, 20 and more years ago.... we are getting old, Roger (don't worry, I'm not telling anyone!)
Mezzoforte is a great band, enjoyed a lot listening to Johann playing... still today  Smiley

Very nice to see your own forum, good call...

How's life out there on the east coast? Busy for sure!
